The Team at Best Practice have been working hard to bring you the latest release of Bp Premier, Oxford, scheduled for early June. Bp Premier Oxford comes packed with new clinical and management enhancements.

Key immunisation workflow enhancements, reflecting new AIR rules and updates to the National Immunisation Program, will include an option for a ‘Nasal’ administration route.  Prevenar 20 has been introduced into the schedule, and vaccine eligibility for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and at-risk children under five has been updated.

The tightening of the bulk‑billing expiry window means Medicare are rejecting claims older than one year from 5th September, 2026. In Bp Premier, from that date, only eligible vouchers from the last 12 months will be added to new batches. Updates have been made to the Date Created field when viewing a patient’s MySL in accordance with ADHA compliance to always show the original prescription date.

A much-requested update from GPs has made its way into Oxford. A copy function has been added for key fields in the script flow when writing authority prescriptions, which will be a genuine time-saver.

The Oxford release also introduces other useability enhancements, including:

    • automatic calculation of smoking pack-years
    • updated Chronic Condition Management and LARC claiming rules
    • an update to the eHealth Certificate Import Tool that will update the eRx gateway certificate at the same time
    • streamlined handling of WorkCover QLD certificates

Then you have the topic keeping the forums busy!

From 1 July 2026, Assignment of Benefits introduces a digital SMS option for flexible pre‑ or post-assignment of benefit. This electronic alternative to the current paper-based system for collecting a patient’s assignment of Medicare benefit coincides with the introduction of the SMS Sender ID Register. What this means for your practice, when it comes to assignment of benefits, is that only registered sender IDs will appear as branded messages on your patients’ devices. Messages from unregistered IDs will be labelled “unverified” and unverified messages may be grouped together to alert users to potential scams.
