Bridge Clinic, located in the picturesque town of Murray Bridge, South Australia, is a standout in rural healthcare. Just under an hour from Adelaide and nestled along the Murray River, this clinic plays a vital role in the region’s medical landscape.

With a team of 93 (including 36 GPs, GP registrars, interns, RMOs, and medical students, supported by 21 nurses and 36 admin staff) Bridge Clinic delivers comprehensive care across two sites. Their services span general practice, emergency and casualty medicine, minor surgery, and 24/7 medical support to the Murray Bridge Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital. They also provide obstetric, anesthetic, and surgical services, care for over 200 aged care residents, and host more than 20 visiting specialists from Adelaide.

I first connected with the Bridge Clinic team during the Bp Summit in Brisbane back in August, where we kicked off classroom training. That initial session laid the groundwork for what became a truly collaborative and rewarding experience.

I was fortunate to spend a full week onsite in Murray Bridge, delivering hands-on training in their dedicated classroom space. With a trial conversion environment set up, we ran two sessions a day for up to 11 staff at a time (including doctors, nurses, admin, finance, and reporting teams). We explored workflows, addressed challenges, and shared ideas through open discussion.

Bridge Clinic’s team was not only engaged and inquisitive but also incredibly welcoming. Their commitment to learning and improving their systems made the week both productive and inspiring.

Thank you, Bridge Clinic, for your hospitality and collaboration. Best of luck with your software go-live, I’m confident your team will continue setting the standard for rural healthcare.
